About Me

I am a current Ph.D. in Education student seeking to specialize in Education Policy and Research Methodology. My research interests include three buckets: accountability and assessments, policy decision-making and implementation, and innovative practices to transform teaching and learning.

I also currently serve as a Policy Advisor at the Learning Policy Institute, and previously held positions as Policy Director for the Aurora Institute (formerly iNACOL) and Policy Analyst at the National Governors Association. With over five years of education policy experience, I strive to connect policy and research to better inform decision-making.

I started my career in education as a high school English teacher and debate coach in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area and received my Masters in Education from the Johns Hopkins University School of Education. A native Iowan, I graduated from Grinnell College with dual degrees in English and Political Science.
